HIS STORY
HiCaliber Cat's barn name, MACHO, was given to him during his time as a two-year old with Travis Stewart and his team, and it fits him to a tee! He definitely shows how "macho" he is when he enters the arena!
Crosshair Ranch acquired the gorgeous bay stallion in January of 2022. From the moment we met him, we knew he was something special. Clayton Edsall began training Macho in October of 2022, and since then they have built a bond that is evident every time you see them together.
THE MOMENT WE KNEW ...
It was after laying down an impressive go-round high score of 224.5 in the herd work at the 2024 Tres Osos Open Derby, Clayton had this to say about Macho: “I’ve always thought he was extremely talented. He’s probably as talented a horse as I’ve ever ridden. He’s really easy to get along with. That horse is extremely cowy and extremely fast to cross a cow.” – Clayton Edsall, Back Gate Interview, Feb. 2024
It was at this show - in this moment - that we knew Macho had come into his own and he and Clayton would continue to make amazing memories in the show pen.

HiCaliber Cat, MACHO, has the heart and the athleticism of a champion. He is a quiet, smart, agile, eager to please, athletic horse who loves to work, and is an own son of the famous High Brow Cat. His Dam is out of the amazing Bob Acre Doc lineage, and his grandfather is Abrakadabracre (1998), who was ridden by Cookie Banuelos, and is famous for his cutting moves, earning more than $112K+ in his day!
MACHO's genetic matchup is nothing short of extraordinary, and we look forward to his up and coming goals showing off the talent he will pass on!
